Introduction

Owning a Canna Ranch: Lovedank Interviews Scoop 4

Lovedank Lovedank!

ALL things DANK. True to form our fellow danklings, True to FORM.

Folks, we’re hitting America this time for the SCOOP.

Ok not literally (for now anyway) but hey, advantages of the modern, digital existence at PLAY.  And this is the stuff of dreams. You know, the stuff us Brits can only dream of.

Imagine you could grow weed for a living. Legally; without the constant anticipation of the old bill turning up with a battering ram, tearing down your nurtured babies and potentially serving jail time.

And let’s take it further. Imagine you could live in exotic climates, continue a long lasting, meaningful legacy and literally, live and breathe weed. You smoke weed, you cultivate weed, Your lifestyle is funded by weed and your culture is weed.

Enter,  Californian Queen of Awesomeness, Kimberley, AKA @daizeddaizy.

A real life manifestation of a smokers dream..  A ranch owner, a legitimate PLUG πŸ”Œ.  Glamorous, down to earth, artistic..

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Lovedank Interviews Scoop 4!

About Lovedank Interviews

Owning a Canna Ranch: Lovedank Interviews Scoop 4

Often in collaboration with our blog partner @otfd420, Lovedank Interviews is a series of blog pieces celebrating and showcasing our fellow industry people.

Whether they are well established or up and coming, Lovedank seeks to offer our readers interesting new content that recognises the diversity of the culture.

So far, we have spoken to our friends H Town Hemp, a leading, LEGAL bud vendor from the UK, Grinder/Brand Icons Headchef and the emerging fashion brand and social media dons, xMELT.

Even with such an impressive showreel of interviewees, we did not expect to be able to secure a ranch owner of such popularity and fantasticness.
Lo and behold! We are moving πŸ†™ And we aim to bring the GAME with us 🀠.

We took a slightly different approach to brainstorming this interview in a sense that we consulted various of our Instagram and Facebook friends on what they would like to discover most about such a contrasting lifestyle to their own.

Ladies and Gentlemen…it’s time to dissect the life of a Canna QUEEN.Β

The Interview – Owning a Canna Ranch: Lovedank Interviews Scoop 4

Interviewer: Ben Lovedank

“Kim.. Dazed Daizy! So what do your friends call you?”

“My friends call me Kim or Kimbo” πŸ˜‚πŸ’˜πŸ’˜

“Ha. Kimbo. The contrast.”

The Life on Ranch.

“Ok so in your own words, tell us eagerly awaiting ears, and the many GREEN envied eyes..

What’s it like to live the dream?  When for you, many people’s dream is your living reality – Is it all what its cracked out to be?”

It is and it isn’t….😁 In all honesty, it is very stressful at times, yes its a huge accomplishment & I love what I do; but a lot goes into growing that people don’t see. It’s not glamorous all the time.

“Growing the good plant, on a large plot of land, in the sun, is surely the ultimate stoner dream. Ok, so like all jobs, it has its ups and downs.

What is a day like working on a farm like yours?

“Working in the Greenhouse is a lot of fun but it’s hard work, growing is manual labor, in the blistering heat some days or in the freezing cold when doing outdoor runs. It is extremely rewarding when you get the perfect harvest & then there are times you lose your entire crop due to rabbits or kangaroo rats πŸ˜‚. It is just like life…there are good and bad days but we always strive for the best days…growing is the same way☺️.”

Canna Origins and Fundamentals.

Owning a Canna Ranch: Lovedank Interviews Scoop 4

“Why the cannabis industry? You seem like someone that could have chosen many paths! Where did the initial fascination come from and what was the deciding factor in choosing such a career?”

My mother, she was the plant guru & lover, she was also diagnosed with several health issues & was given only 3 years left to live…consuming cannabis was something she needed on a daily basis, so from a young age, I knew what it was but I didn’t start my own journey with it until I was 18. A big part of why I chose to continue growing cannabis was to be closer to her πŸ’•.”

Owning a Canna Ranch“I am sure she would be extremely proud of what you have built. That extra significance is powerful and meaningful. May she rest in eternal peace and greatness Kim. She is still living, through you…I’m sure you have learnt a lot from her..

How about your methodologies and practices ..

Is there anything unique or rare that you do that you feel sets you apart from the competition?”

Owning a Canna Ranch “No I wouldn’t; I say that because most of what I do, other growers do too. We all use the same techniques, lights, nutes etc. I think what sets growers apart from one another is how much they understand the anatomy behind all plants πŸ’•”.

Owning a Canna Ranch“Do you practice any organic growing or is all of your produce hydroponically created? “

Owning a Canna Ranch “I used to, now mainly I do Floraflex & Athena with an ADS (automatic drip feeding system) but I am always doing new stuff & looking for the next best thingπŸ’•.”

Owning a Canna Ranch“How do you ensure consistency given all the variables at play?”

Owning a Canna Ranch “Understanding the plant and the environment. VPD helps a lot tooπŸ’•.”

Owning a Canna Ranch“Do you have all your flowers lab tested? Is that becoming a necessity now?”

Owning a Canna RanchI do & I don’t think so (that it is a necessity), more of a bragging right in my opinion.

Owning a Canna Ranch“Do you notice as a farmer any particular strains that tend to grow better outside during certain seasons over being grown inside? Or the other way around?”

Owning a Canna RanchI noticed plants flourish a lot more outside, was unable to mimic the sun in a closed room as opposed to a greenhouse because the suns UVs are much more intense… they both have their pros & cons I personally do both and I love them both πŸ’•.

Owning a Canna Ranch“What is the process for growing CBD and how do you ensure it has below a certain level of THC? “

Owning a Canna RanchI don’t do CBD rite now I don’t have a whole lot of time for it tbh

Owning a Canna Ranch“What do you do with your recycled produce? Ie. Stems and leaves/sugar leaves.”

Owning a Canna Ranch “Use everything I have here so if it’s not to make oil to give to someone in need or just to process to make RSO for myself it’s being used to create & make something πŸ’•”.

Owning a Canna Ranch“What’s it’s like being a female farmer in what I imagine is a highly male dominated industry?”

Owning a Canna Ranch “It’s intense at times I feel like woman have to work a little harder for respect in this industry. But then there’s times when people are amazing so it’s really just the people you meet I guess πŸ’•.”

Owning a Canna Ranch“What lessons has having a farm taught you that you never even considered before you started?”

Owning a Canna Ranch “Not everyone that smiles in your face is a homie & never have a partner. Two big lessons for me.”πŸ’―

Owning a Canna Ranch“How difficult is it to break into the market? I’m guessing lots of people try to do it,  but you seem to be doing very well with it so far.”

Owning a Canna RanchTBH, I just do my own thing, I don’t focus on all that, it’s just me & the plants, i’ve learned all else falls into place as it should.

Owning a Canna Ranch“Admirable outlook for sure. This mentality…What do you put that down to?”

Owning a Canna RanchFaith in God & being a good person from the heart, do good but don’t brag about it, praise God in all because without him and my family, I wouldn’t be the person I am today. God is why I kept going and the reason all of this is possible.

Owning a Canna Ranch“Deep. Appreciate the humility.”

About Kim.

Owning a Canna Ranch“Ok DD, we’ve covered a fair bit about your operations.

Now we want to get to know Kim. If you could only grow one strain for the rest of your life what would it be and why?”

Owning a Canna Ranch “Probably Wedding Cake or my Double Orange Wifi. And Wedding Cakes are just phenomenal as its such a great yielder. It’s such a tasty gassy strain in my opinion. I also love a good citrus terp so my Orange Wifi is pretty terpy!”

Owning a Canna Ranch“How about your spirit, your creative nature and that SINGLE status.

Let’s start with the latter. Lads, form an orderly queue..Single. Ready to mingle? Or too busy cultivating for that sh…?”

Owning a Canna RanchI like to keep my romantic life and a lot of my family life private. I feel like some privacy in life is key to happiness.

Owning a Canna Ranch“If you could be anywhere in the world, at this precise moment, where would you find yourself… What would you be doing and who would you be with? “

Owning a Canna RanchProb Egypt πŸ’• exploring the tombs or in Tulum, Mexico jumping into Cenotes with someone special.

Owning a Canna Ranch“We had the pleasure of meeting you via Socials and you are rightfully popular on Instagram.

You rep the culture proudly (and playfully πŸ˜) yet still find time to ‘return ze love’.

Tell us more about your social side, your tendency for kindness and your attitudes towards social media.”

Owning a Canna RanchIt’s funny you ask, i am actually a bit of an introvert. I’m pretty shy when I meet people for the first time but once I get to know you, prepare for some weird stuffπŸ˜‚.

As shy as I am though. I love people and want to help everyone. Like I said my mother was only given 3 years to live, I helped take care of her and as a child, I prayed her pain could be put on me I am the same way with people today I just want to help anyone I can & my heart bleeds for people hurting or in need.

I grew up in Mexico growing up in that culture taught me a lot about life, love… and people and faith. We do good because we can and want to, not because we have to or because we want praise for it. It is from within your heart and I live by that, to this day.”

Owning a Canna Ranch“Imagine a world where everyone abided by these values…PEACE & LOVE. So Kim, we LOVE your fantastic Instagram story feed…. always featuring the bestest edible creations. Full of colour, with textures that you know are awesome without even tasting.”

A typically colourful edible created by Kim

What is your chef’s choice?

Like if you were going to serve an edible to say, Seth Rogen or Snoop Dogg…what would you serve to impress?”

Owning a Canna RanchOh gosh, I would be sooo worried to serve them my peasant creations to them πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, that just me though, I come from a very humble family..

Owning a Canna Ranch“Too humble (Note to readers…Kim’s edibles look elite! Follow her Instagram and keep your eyes out for her stories!).
